Club Championship R1
We had 7 championship R1 games proceed at the weekend:
first up was the junior meeting of Castleblayney V Killeevan
Castleblayneys youth excelled in this encounter and despite Killeevan hitting a purple patch in the 3rd quarter, it didn't yield enough for them to severely challenge their opponents
Tyholland were at the mercy of the Sean McDermotts ladies as the latter laid siege on their north Monaghan opponents in the second of the junior ties - coming out on top with plenty to spare
In the 3rd of the junior ties Carrickmacross were at home to Killanny, this encounter was more balanced with Killanny coming out on top in the end.
In the Intermediate c'ship Aughnamullen faced Corduff at home: usually a very tight affair between these two teams, however, Aughnamullen were up for the challenge and their overall determination seen them go well ahead heading into the final quarter. Corduff got a lifeline with an opportunist goal and left them losing by three in the end. St Brigids travelled to Monaghan Harps hoping to continue as they left off in 2019 - they gave a great account of themselves and were victorous in the end.
The senior tie of Donaghmoyne and Intermediate winners 2019 O'Neills, seen the fontenoy ladies cruise home to victory, as they excelled in front of the posts.
Emmet Og had plenty to spare from their encounter with Latton and will hope to continue on their winning ways
