Monaghan minors have returned a 3 out of 3-win return with a 4-22 to 2-5 victory against neighbours Armagh on Wed night last in R2. Their ease through the ulster series is so far a just reward for their performance as a team. Then on Saturday they travelled to Breffni Park, which turned out to be a different story altogether, bearing in mind the Cavan schools performances in ulster earlier in the year, it was always going to be a toughie. With Monaghan adrift by several points at the break, they needed to pull out all the stops to have any chance of overcoming the Breffni ladies. With increasing pressure,they hauled themselves back into the game to level matters as the full time approached and then to go ahead for the first time as the final whistle sounded, finishing 0-10 to 0-9. They have kept the farney flag flying once again and look odds on favourite to be appearing in the ulster decider for the third year in a row. However, there is one small matter in the meeting of Tyrone in 2 weeks’ time, but given their form to date it would be realistic to assume another win could seal the
